Express Global Logistics is a leading freight forwarding company with a global presence, specializing in Air and ocean Freight services. Headquartered in Mumbai, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as Manager of Sales & Business Development.

 

Location: Delhi / Mumbai / Chennai


Role Overview:

As the Manager of sales and Business Development, you will be responsible for driving the business success of our company by implementing a robust and sustainable sales strategy. This role involves managing organizational sales, developing business plans, and fostering strong customer relationships.

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Business Development:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business plan covering sales, revenue, and expense controls.
  • Promote our Air & Ocean Freight services, meeting sales targets, and implementing the sales strategy.
  • Maintain existing customer relations and expand the customer base by exploring new markets.
  • Visit existing and potential customers to understand their needs, propose customized solutions, and negotiate contract terms.
  • Participate in the definition of business strategy and corporate marketing, keeping abreast of market changes.
  •  

Sales Support:

  • Prepare sales contracts/proposals based on approved proposals and standard terms & and conditions.
  • Assist in the preparation of tender responses, including rates procurement and tender document creation.
  • Monitor the progress of shipments and participate in contract setting and payment monitoring.
  • Collaborate with other branches to share sales leads and promote additional logistic services.

Sales Management:

  • Develop a deep knowledge of profitability creation in Custom Broking and Freight forwarding.
  • Provide weekly and monthly sales reports to the General Manager.
  • Maintain accurate records of prices, sales, and activity reports.
  • Conduct proposal presentations and RFP responses.
  • Control expenses to meet budget guidelines.
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors for updated pricing and freight information.

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • More than five years of sales experience, including three years in a sales management capacity in the freight forwarding industry.
  • Postgraduate degree in International Trade, Transport/Logistics, or Air Transportation.

 

Essential Skills:

  • Experience in planning and implementing sales strategies.
  • Proficient in customer relationship management.
  • Strong analytical skills, proficient with numbers, and able to produce reports.
  • Leadership and public speaking skills.
  • Proven track record of sales in a similar role in the freight forwarding industry.
