About the Role
Responsible for ensuring compliance with safety standards, statutory regulations, and company safety policies at the site. The Safety Officer will monitor day-to-day safety practices, conduct safety inspections, and ensure a safe working environment for all employees involved in warehouse and shopfloor operations. The role includes implementing safety procedures, conducting safety trainings, and ensuring adherence to EHS guidelines. This role reports to the Operations Manager

Roles and Responsibilities
- The Safety Officer will oversee implementation of safety policies, procedures, and statutory compliance at the site.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory safety regulations and company EHS policies.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments at the workplace.
- Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by all employees and contractors.
- Conduct safety induction and regular safety training programs for employees.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses; prepare reports and implement corrective measures.
- Maintain all safety documentation, records, and statutory registers.
- Ensure safety compliance during material handling, warehouse operations, and shopfloor activities.
- Coordinate with operations teams to implement safe work practices and procedures.
- Ensure firefighting systems, emergency exits, and safety equipment are functional and regularly inspected.
- Conduct mock drills and emergency preparedness activities.
- Support site readiness for safety and regulatory audits.
- Promote safety awareness and develop a strong safety culture at the workplace.
Requirements
- 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in industrial safety, preferably in warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing operations.
- Diploma / Degree in Industrial Safety or equivalent certification.
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Good knowledge of statutory safety requirements and EHS standards.
- Strong observation, reporting, and incident investigation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools like Word and Excel.
